Acer Nitro V Gaming Laptop India Review — RTX 4050 for ₹65K, RTX 5050 for ₹81K, But Low TGP Makes It a Bad Deal

The Acer Nitro V 15 has appeared on Flipkart with two flashy options:

  • Core 5-210H + RTX 4050 + 16 GB RAM + 512 GB SSD → around ₹69,000
  • Core i7-13620H + RTX 5050 + 16 GB RAM + 512 GB SSD → around ₹91,000

At first glance, these seem like solid gaming laptop deals. But if you’re thinking of buying one right now, here’s why you shouldn’t.

1. Low GPU Power Limit (TGP)

Both the RTX 4050 and RTX 5050 in the Nitro V are capped at ~75 W TGP. Independent testing of Nitro V units confirms the RTX 4050 averages ~74 W under gaming load. Acer itself has confirmed similar constrained specs for the RTX 5050.

👉 Translation: you’re paying for the RTX 4050/5050 name, but you don’t get the full performance these GPUs can deliver in laptops with higher TGP (like Lenovo LOQ, HP Victus, or Omen).

2. Mediocre Display

Yes, you get 144 Hz (4050 model) or 165 Hz (5050 model) refresh rates. But brightness and colours are weak:

  • Around 260–280 nits max brightness.
  • ~60% sRGB coverage on 4050 models.

This is fine for indoor gaming, but forget about outdoor use, HDR, or any colour-critical work.

3. Build Quality

The Nitro V is built almost entirely out of plastic. At ~2.2 kg, it’s light enough, but reviews and users note keyboard deck flex and a less premium feel compared to the sturdier Nitro 5 or competitors like LOQ.

4. RAM Confusion

Some Nitro V SKUs in India use DDR4 RAM, others use DDR5. Both Flipkart listings mention 16 GB RAM, but unless you check the exact SKU, you may end up stuck with slower DDR4. Not ideal at this price point in 2025.

5. Price vs Value (Biggest Problem)

Right now:

  • RTX 4050 Nitro V = ₹69K
  • RTX 5050 Nitro V = ₹91K

These are not Big Billion Days discounted prices. We don’t know if they’ll drop significantly, but here’s the kicker: during the sale, laptops like the Lenovo LOQ, HP Victus, and HP Omen are very likely to come down into the same price range — and those machines usually have:

  • Higher GPU TGPs (better performance)
  • Better displays (higher brightness, colour coverage)
  • Stronger build quality

Which makes Nitro V a bad buy at current pricing.

Final Verdict — Not Recommended

The Acer Nitro V 15 in India is priced aggressively, but the compromises are too big:

  • Low 75 W TGP neuters GPU performance.
  • Display is mediocre.
  • Build is budget plastic.
  • RAM type varies by SKU.

At ₹69K for 4050 and ₹91K for 5050, this laptop is not worth it right now. Better machines with the same GPUs but higher TGP and better displays (like LOQ, Victus, Omen) are expected to hit similar price points once Big Billion Days kicks in.

👉 Wait for the sale. Skip the Nitro V.
